Probus Club of Perth Inc.
Historical Background

Thirty-three years ago the foundation meeting of the Probus Club of Perth took place on 9th May 1984. This was two years after the initial 19 Probus Clubs were formed in WA in 1982. The first meeting was held at the CTA Club in Havelock Street West Perth. The meeting was chaired by the Rotary President Peter Potter and assisted by the District Governors representative Bill Thornton and President of the Karrinyup Probus Club Jim Richards. Also in attendance was the Lord Mayor of Perth Mich Michael. From our records it would appear that there were 28 foundation members at that meeting and they elected Alf Pearson as the first President of the Probus Club of Perth.

Since January 2016 the Club has welcomed male and female members.

At present we have about 100 members (about 50% women) who meet for two hours commencing at 10 a.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at Lake Karrinyup Country Club, North Beach Road, Karrinyup. Light luncheon is available at the conclusion of the meeting. On site parking is free and plentiful.
