We are now a combined club.
We are now a combined — men’s and women’s — club. This change has been operating successfully for most of 2016.
Day-to-day news is now found on the new Happenings page.
We’re 30 – a notable anniversary.
PROBUS WA President Graeme Brown joined members on the 30th anniversary of the branch’s formation and made some flattering observations about our performance. He was particularly impressed, he said, with our newly-established website. He congratulated Ned Overton on its design, which he suggested would be a model for other branches.
He also spoke of negotiations with Probus South Pacific Ltd in Sydney. A 30th Anniversary plaque was presented to our President. Congratulations were also extended to Ron Seares and Noel Monks, who were present and original members of the club.
After presenting President Peter Wesley with the branch’s 30th anniversary certificate, Graeme noted that there were now 170 branches in WA, with four more about to be established. Also notable was WA’s influence nationally, with all 10 WA suggestions for changes to the movement’s constitution being accepted at a recent meeting of top officers in Sydney.
Presentation of 25-Year Awards.
Below are a few photos of presentation of three past presidents of our club with their 25-year awards by recent past-president Arthur. The three were Noel Monks, Ron Seares and John Pope. All three joined Probus Perth in 1984.
John was President in 1984, Noel served in 1990, while Ron was President the following year. Here they show their badges and certificates.
